School Engagement
"Our sessions can be bespoke to represent a specific project, client or curriculum"
We run a comprehensive STEM schedule across schools and colleges in South Wales, delivered mainly by our head of social value but also the wider team at Blue Water. We work in collaboration with our clients and partners to engage with the schools in the catchment area of a construction site. We provide a holistic approach to our engagement due to each school having its own needs due to the demographic and
the interests/ needs of the pupils.
To maximise the impact of our school engagement we are linking topics related to construction and employability to help bring the curriculum to life.
We work with our clients at to bring their project to schools in a fun and engaging way. Linking in to the curriculum means that the work continues in the classroom after our session. The school often run a trip to the construction site to see the work in action. We also engage with pupil referral units. They are schools dedicated to supporting secondary-age learners who require additional help with their social, emotional, and behavioural needs, or who need extra mental health and wellbeing support. They work closely with learners to create bespoke, personalised learning plans that address their specific needs. We have delivered creative sessions that link construction skills to the pupils interests.
Our sessions are not just construction specific but focus on employability skills such as CV building workshops, interview skills and presentation skills.
