Senior Construction Planner

 

Blue Water Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a Tier 1 Construction Company that are looking to add a Senior Construction Planner to their team.

 

The suitable candidate will have a strong background with using ASTA software. You will be required to work on site and at their Head Office which is based in Bristol.

 

Specific Duties:

  • Agree with Project Team the level of planning service and anticipated time allocation
  • Hands-on planning, in conjunction with the project team, optimum working programme to meet project objectives covering design, procurement, enabling, construction, commissioning, handover, client key dates
  • Contributing to the capturing of project risks and proposing mitigating actions
  • Chair and minute programme, logistic and delivery workshops
  • Communicating within the project team to ensure they are aware of their roles in meeting the programme
  • Meeting/ communicating with supply chain specialists to confirm suitable method and programme for scope given project specific constraints
  • Monitoring and reporting progress against programmes, suggesting mitigation actions
  • Understand the project forms of contract (with specific amendments) and ensure team are aware of actions necessary. 1) demonstrate entitlement 2) protect business from commercial harm
  • Summarise projects status upstream to senior management, highlighting any unresolved major risks and potential overruns
  • Line management of junior planners setting them to work, monitoring the timeliness and quality of their work, providing frequent feedback and mentoring support, and undertaking appraisals as necessary
  • Manage time and workload to ensure deadlines are met. Highlight any potential work overload to Line Manager
  • Implement BIM strategy as required

Job Purpose: Responsible for ensuring line and level control on the project and quality compliance. Supporting the operations team in delivering quality, environmental and health & safety processes whilst maintaining the critical path programme. Key Tasks: Be involved with the design process and procurement of subcontractors for the external works, façade and internal fit out. Update and monitor the works programme for the area of responsibility, reporting promptly to the Project Manager any problems which may lead to time delays against works programme Co-ordinate and attend meetings with the design staff and subcontractors Manage the QVF file (quality plan of every subcontractor) and ensure work inspection records are done in compliance with it.
